Major League Baseball recently released their top 50 prospects fro 2011. Good news for the Braves is that they took three of the top 21 positions. RHP Julio Teheran was 10th, 1B Freddie Freeman 17th, and LHP Mike Minor 21st. In Teheran, the league's 2nd ranked right hander, along with Arodys Vizcaino and Randall Delgado, the Braves possess three of the game's top young pitching prospects. He capped his impressive 2010 campaign by logging a 3.38 ERA and limiting opponents to a .204 batting average after his promotion to Double-A Mississippi.
Other players of note are Yankee catcher Jesus Montero at #9, only because he is on my fantasy team. Former Tarheel 2B Dustin Ackley is #5, while fomer Vol catcher J.P. Arencibia is #48. A duo of former Gamecock commits make an appearence with Royal catcher Wil Myers at 16 and Astro pitcher Jordan Lyles at 31. Lonnie Chisenhall, who wore the Garnet and Black for half a season, holds down the #36 position for the Indians.
