Barbeque Pig

From: Benjamin
Another night and another huge win for the Gamecock basketball squad. Really, Arkansas is a big win? Absolutely, and here's why: 1) The Hogs had just beaten Alabama, a team that is proving to be the best of the west. 2) Bruce Ellington, Damontre Harris, Malik Cooke, and Brian Richardson all missed significant action with foul trouble. Unlike in the past, when the starters went out the lead increased. 3) Defense, defense, defense. We are among the many who have moaned and groaned about the poor defensive efforts of Horn's previous squads. This team is different. They are scrappy. Scrappy teams are energetic and fun to watch!

Who can say enough about Sam Muldrow. The senior big man controls the paint like Dikembe Mutombo. Ramon Galloway will receive lots of praise for his 21 points, but his defense on Arkansas sharpshooter, Rontei Clarke, was equally impressive. Clarke, a 40% 3 point shooter on the year, was held to 1 of 7 from the floor. The coaching was stellar as well. The team continued to be successful offensively out of a timeout, and Coach Horn's switching Lakeem Jackson to defending Hog point guard Julysses Nobles really shut down their offensive at a point when it was really clicking. Kudos to an all around well played game.
