What we have to do to win

From: Elliott
Ok, we give the Fighting Gamecocks little if any chance to pull off the victory this weekend, as Alabama is just dominant. However, we do have a puncher's chance, as Buster Douglas showed against the unbeatable Mike Tyson. A wise coach once told me that the key to winning was to just score more points than they do. If we are gonna spring the upset we must have most if not all of the following come to fruition....

1) We must play out of our mind and the Tide must be flat. Could the hype and subsequent drubbing of the Florida Gators last week positively impact the game for us? We can only hope.
2) This is beginning to sound like a broken record, but a special teams TD must occur. Our best chance would be to block a punt, but that would require us to force a 4th down. If Gilmore or (please anyone but Culliver) returns a punt or kickoff, Williams Brice may explode.
3) Star WR Julio Jones has a sore knee. In order to slow (stopping them is impossible) the Bama rushing attack, there must be 8 plus men in the box, forcing the Tide offense to beat us through the air. If they do, shake their hand and say good game. Don't lose by letting them beat you with their strength.
4) Gilmore and company must stay home on play action.
5) Some running game must show up to keep our defense off the field. Don't just line up and run right at them, but be creative. It doesn't need to be loaded with misdirection like Florida attempted, but a variety of plays to gain positive yards. Coach Spurrier is a master of matchups and creativity is needed. Ace Sanders on the end around, option, and lots of the
6) Gilmore package. Can this show up again please!
7) Good gracious, no more missed extra points.
