Hot Seat Update

From: Cole

1) Paul Wulff-Washington State: Keeps the top spot. They stink.
2) Butch Davis-Even wins may not save him. John Blake was dirty.
3) Tim Brewster-Minnesota: Almost beat Northwestern
4) Les Miles-He's 5-0 you say? Did you see that clock management in the Tennessee game?
5) Mark Richt-Hate this one, but 1-4 is 1-4
6) Dan Hawkins-Colorado: He is lucky Caleb King fumbled.
7) Ron Zook-Illinois: Poor clock management strikes again versus Ohio State
8) Ralph Friedgen-Maryland: Lucky to beat Duke
9) Mike Locksley-New Mexico: Suprised he made it through last season

The end of the LSU game was a comedy of errors. I will give Tennessee a break on their 13 men on the field. They have a new coach and LSU was mass subing, which created some confusion. If it persists, then Dooley will be in trouble. But what on earth was Coach Les Miles thinking? On the 1 yard line with 30 seconds to go and 3rd down. Think "Taneyhill up to the line. Taneyhill gonna give it to Bennett." Run it up the gut twice. He had his jumbo team in the game and had no timeouts. Nope, massive subs that cost 20 plus seconds and led to an errant snap. Poor game management has been a criticism of Miles before, but that was ridiculous. LSU looks like our teams under Coach Holtz-good everything and horrific QB play. Bayou Bengal fans can tolerate a team struggling due to poor QB play, but not such inept coaching. The QB play is not likely to get better soon, as their prize freshman left fall camp to sign a baseball contract.

CBS has chosen to take its 2nd six day window for Oct 16th. The possible game times are 3:30 on CBS, 6 pm on ESPN 2, or 7 pm on ESPNU. The games they are looking at are the Fighting Gamecocks at Kentucky, Ole Miss at Bama, Arkansas at Auburn, and Mississippi State at Florida. One would believe they are holding out to see if we win this week because the Auburn game is by far the best matchup of the week. I would expect us to be the ESPNU game if all goes as expected.
