Before we get started, can the Braves find anyone to play second besides Conrad? 4 errors in 3 NLDS games is attrocious. His 3 yesterday cost the game. I know there are injuries, but move Diory Hernandez to 3rd and Infante to 2nd please!
The impact of yesterday's game will surely be felt on the recruiting trail. Recall that Coach Saban used the Bama is a big time program and we are not line on Manning's John Fulton last year. Seeing that the Tide has offered so many in-state prospects this year, the win was a huge one that will impact our program for years to come. The first chip to fall was Lake City running back and stud baseball player, Shon Carson. Kudos to recruiters Brad Lawing and Chad Holbrook on this one. Carson plans to play both sports in college, but watch out for the baseball draft here. He is a speed back and should complement Lattimore nicely. So far this season, Carson has rushed for 1300 yards and 20 touchdowns. Wow! Lake City is not 4A, but those are fanstastic numbers.
Pastor Gary's LSU Bayou Bengals returned the favor we gave them earlier in the day, but beating the Florida Gators in the swamp last night to top off a marvelous day. Gator QB, John Brantley, is rumored to be playing with 4 cracked ribs and a hairline fracture in his thumb. We'll see if this impacts him as the Mississippi State Bulldogs travel to Florida next weekend. The Fighting Gamecocks are in sole possession of first place in the SEC east!
Didn't get to see the clemmons game because of ours, but how in the world could they lose to a UNC team missing 6 defensive starters? Parker has got to be thinking, "I came back for this?" The Dabo grumblings will surely begin. This is what you get when you hire a coach with no head coaching or coordinator experience. He is a nice guy and a welcomed change of pace after 9 years of Tommy "pass the buck" Bowden, but only an average coach. I see a string of wins over very below average opponents in their future, but hey they lost to Maryland last season. Bet there will be lots of empty seats in Death Valley on Saturday. With the way the tiger season has gone so far, it will probably rain.
